Location was fine for getting into and out of the centre of Fredericksburg. Walkable to a convenience store for morning coffee. Had fridge and microwave for food and drink. Quiet - think I was the only guest
Budget by name - budget by nature. It was the cheapest in town but still felt run down for the price in other towns in the area. Very dated and creepy. Smelt funny. Spend a few $$ more on another motel and skip a coffee or candy bar during the day. There was one power socket in the room which was by the door and had the TV and fridge plugged in. To use the microwave then the microwave had to be carried across the room and placed on the floor to be used!!! no coffee machine, no food vending. Then owner hassled me in the morning about when I'd leave the room, I left just before 11am (checkout) and he was asking me during the morning when I'd be leaving.. He was in cleaning the room before I'd closed the trunk of the car... Strange.. I don't believe the motel was full that day :-)

The only thing going for this hotel is location and price
Carpet was old and dirty. Towels were old and bad condition. Bedding were mixed designs. Pillow cases were different from bedding sheets and did not fit size of pillows. Bathtub had stains. No Central air of heat. Wall unit,

I was able to get a room downstairs, with pet friendly attitude.
This particular motel was, not clean, the linens were thread bare. The linens were very poor quality and thread-bare. The floors were dirty, as was the carpet. The motel was old and dated, and not comfortable. If the town had another room vacacancy I would have moved to another motel. The room had a moldy smell, which we went out and bought a candle to burn to remove the smell. I would not recomend this motel to anyone! Very scant, smelly towels and no amenties.

The Budget Host has the cost of a Motel 8, but attempts to capture the charm of a "small town bed and breakfast". While it may not be a charming cottage, it does have comfortable beds with throws and quilts...it is comfortable, warm, and inviting.
You get more than you pay for at Budget Host. I couldn't ask for more at the price we paid.

The location
The rooms smelled like mildew and cigarettes, we ordered a room with Queen size bed and got a full bed and a twin bed. We were afraid to take of our clothes and lay in the bed, The bathroom was awful the sink was stopped up and the shower was filthy and hit my husband about chest high. The water barely trickled out. Could not even wash our hair but hey their was no shampoo or soap anyway. Would sleep in the car next time.

Spent the night killing cockroaches in the bathroom. Many small ones, 1 large waterbug one.

Not one damn thing. Worst place I ever stayed.
You should be ashamed for selling this room. We did not take a shower it was so dirty. Every single towel was thin, old and frayed with strings hanging off. When my towels get like this at teh house I give them to the dogs. Very snappy rude office staff. I would have been more comfortable and safer sleeping in my car. I slept the whole night with my cloths and shoes on. I did not even bring in my suitcase to keep bugs off of it. Not even 10 minutes after I made teh reservation I found out a cose frind was admitted tot eh hospital and I decided to stay home. I tried to cancel, but neither book it nor the budget host would allow me to cancel. So then I decided to go after everything was better. Should have stayed home. Shame on bookit.com and budget host. You are all jerks.

For the price comparing other hotels, it was well worth it. Room was clean and staff was accomidating.
Small room with even a smaller bathroom

There is no pool to cool in. Towel were worn out. Need to swing bathroom door completely open to walk in and out. Toilet is too close to the door. Family members found roaches in their rooms. Won't stay again.

Location, but that is it.
Old, old, old furniture, out-dated felt like I was staying at my deceased great grandmother's home.

It was disgustingly filthy. There was no soap in the shower. The bathroom door hit your knees on the comode. The parking area; you could not turn around. The queen beds were the size of a small full bed and the room was extremely overpriced.

The room was clean. Except for the 2nd day we stayed, the bed had been made but the toilet and sink were not cleaned because the white paper that was wrapped around the toilet to show it was cleaned was left handing over the edge of the toilet the way we had left it. But on our first time in room, it was clean.
The office staff was rude, unfriendly and unaccommodating to basic needs such as adjusting air in room (there is no thermostat in room), having coffee available (no coffee maker in room). The towels were worn out and stiff (not soft). The shower barely dribbled. I couldn't wash my hair using the shower. I never got the soap out of it. Had to use sink. How can you provide a microwave in a room and no coffee maker or alarm clock? Staff refused to make coffee until 7 am each day. We were on a trail ride that left at 7 each morning. Even on the morning we stayed late, they did not have coffee ready by 7 am.
